Review
Back when I was first getting into electronic music, this is one of the bands that sucked me in. The “Vegas” album is their first album although they have gone on to release six more albums (none of which outshine this one). If you are a fan of electronic music and don’t already have this in your collection then I recommend picking up this album. Every song on this album is great and easily something you can listen to from end-to-end.

“Trip Like I Do” Music Video
While the video is mostly a mix of images from the Final Fantasy franchise, you’ll get to hear a bit of the song. Pay special attention to the lyrics as they are strongly influenced by The Dark Crystal movie.
“Trip Like I Do (with Filter)” Music Video
For those that like the band, Filter, you might like this version of the “Tripe Like I Do” song. BTW, this song was first released with the Spawn movie (on the special features disk). However, if you are a Spawn fan, I recommend not watching the movie and checking out the animated HBO series instead.

Review
“Another world. Another time. In the Age of Wonder. A 1,000 years ago this land was green and good, until The Crystal cracked.”
The Dark Crystal, a Jim Henson film released in 1982, is one of those films I missed out on as a kid and have only recently discovered (thanks, Kate). The film is the story of a Gelfling, raised by the Mystics, who must find the Shard of the Crystal to restore peace to a world now controlled by the evil Skeksis. The story is your basic tale of good vs. evil but the world crafted by Jim Henson is wonderful to watch (especially considering that the entire cast is all made of puppets), rich in detail for its time, and expertly done. This is a movie that I have come back to watch a couple of times now and imagine I’ll watch it many times more.

Wedding Party

For those of you joining us for our wedding party, we have started mailing out our “Save the Date” cards and I suspect that most of you will be getting these in the mail by the end of the week. Hopefully, everyone can make it as we would love to see everyone come out. The party is going to hosted at our house with catered food and an assortment of things to drink. I am currently working on a Ruby on Rails site that will allow you all to R.S.V.P. to the party (more details on that in a future post). Of course, you can comment to this post here if you like as well.
Additional party details about our elopement and wedding plans can be found on the Elopement page.
Mark your calendar and stay tuned for further updates!

Review
Half Cousin is an Irish band that juxtaposes folk music with digital fragments to create a unique but off-beat album that really works. The songs “Big Chief (The B&B Frequenter)” and “The Absentee” are my favorite but the rest of the songs on the album are great as well.
“Iodine” is the second album released by Half Cousin. I haven’t listened to their first album, “The Function Room”, but it might be worth checking out as well.
