OmniFocus HyperLinked Notes

I often find myself stumbling across web sites, articles, and other online content while working. Usually, don’t have time to check the links out immediately so I just add them to OmniFocus for when I do have time. Initially, I was doing this via the QuickEntry window:

OmniFocus QuickEntry (bad hyperlink)

However, this is much better:

OmniFocus QuickEntry (good hyperlink)

Notice the clickable hyperlink in the second screenshot. Later, when I have time, I can click the hyperlink and immediately see it load in my web browser without additional cutting and pasting.

This might seem like a lame tip but, hey, I overlooked this feature initially. Maybe you did too.

  1. I use that feature a lot. I only wish the link worked in the main topic line in addition to in the note.

I have several “Resources” projects that contain mostly link references, with the project sitting as a sibling to a collection of related projects. E.g. in my “RT” folder (bike service) there’s a Resources project along with other projects detailing specific RT service items.

  3. Indeed, I’d like to see that enhancement too.

I have started using “Research” and even “General” projects as you mention.

Another sub-project that I find handy to create is “Maintenance” projects. I use these for adding reoccurring tasks. For example, “Charge bike” where I need to charge the bike every week so the battery doesn’t drain on me during these colder months.
