If you haven’t heard of the Flying Spagetti Monster then you have now. You might consider reading the The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster by Bobby Henderson. It is worth a laugh. Oh, and when you are a Pastafarian, Friday’s are a holiday.

The Spicy Pickle

Spicy Pickle Panini Sandwich

I spotted one of these restaurants during my spell in Scottsdale, AZ but never got a chance to check it out until now (as they are now popping up in Colorado). It is a cross between fast food and a sit down restaurant and serves up tasty panini sandwiches with quality ingredients. Kate and I recommend the following paninis:

Who knows, you might enjoy the experience too.

iPhone 1.1.1

While some are hacking the iPhone, I am playing it safe and decided to install the latest 1.1.1 software update on the iPhone. My favorite feature from the update is the ability to double tap the Home button to resume playback of music. Previously, you had to unlock the phone or use the mic tap from plugged in headphones (which I have written about here).

Below is a shot of how the iPhone behaved before the software update (first picture) and a shot of how the iPhone behaves now that the 1.1.1 software update is applied:

As you can see, there is no need to unlock the phone to resume playback. Sweet!

Hidden Blogger Syndicated Feeds

Blogger
© Blogger

Disappointed with web sites that do not provide easy to find syndicated feed icons and links, I thought the following might be of help to those trying to subscribe to Blogger content.

Step 1

Find a web site that you want subscribe to. For example: The Candid Frame.

Step 2

Notice that the root URL of The Candid Frame is: http://thecandidframe.blogspot.com. If you add the “/feeds/posts/default” suffix to the root URL, you will then be able to subscribe to The Candid Frame. Like this (click to try):

Step 3 (optional)

Lets say that you really like the site and you want to subscribe to the comments in addition to the main feed shown in Step 2 above. Then you just need to attach the “/feeds/comments/default” suffix to the main URL. Like this (click to try):

Notes

Every Blogger account has this capability. Just remember the steps above and start subscribing!

SnagIt Notes

SnagIt Notes (desktop image)

In case you have not heard, TechSmith has just released a few new output accessories for their SnagIt application. One of which is the SnagIt Notes output accessory. I have written about Digital Sticky Notes before but this takes the cake! Here are a few things that I like about this accessory:

  • Free to download and install for existing SnagIt users.
  • Integrates nicely with SnagIt so you can choose to save your image (edited or not) as a image note on your desktop.
  • Each image note can also have text notes associated with it.
  • You can easily edit any image note at any time.
  • All image notes can be automatically saved and reappear on your desktop upon reboot of the operating system.

There are still a few enhancements that could be made, however:

  • Works on Windows only and requires the .NET 2.0 framework.
  • Not sure I want to see my task manager cluttered up like this:
    Task Manager (SnagIt Notes)
Maybe the notes should removed from the task manager and shown as a clickable menu items from the SnagIt Notes system tray icon.
  • I wish the images defaulted to *.snag format so I could delete and modify originally saved images in the future. Workaround: Don’t edit the images until you are ready to use them.

Great accessory and one that is now a part of my daily workflow. To see this accessory in action, watch this screencast.
